Yes. The Battery Management System (BMS) automatically controls charging and stops once the target level has been reached.
Charging equipment is designed to be weather resistant and safe for outdoor use. Ensure the charging connector is clean, dry and undamaged before use.
AC power from the grid is converted to DC by the car's onboard charger (OBC). AC charging (7.4kW, 22kW, 43kW) typically takes 4-8 hours and suits overnight, work, or mall parking. DC charging (50kW+) converts AC to DC at the charging point itself, bringing batteries to ~80% in 30-45 minutes — ideal for quick top-ups on the move.

The MG4's 9 hours is longer than the general 4-8 hour guide above because its onboard charger is only 7kW single-phase — a bigger battery on a modest OBC takes longer no matter how fast the wall unit is rated. The S6 has a 3-phase 11kW onboard charger, so it makes far better use of an 11kW AC station where the MG4 cannot.
Note the two DC figures are measured differently: MG4 is quoted "to 80%", S6 is quoted "10%-80%". They are close but not directly comparable.

Three factors affect charging speed:

If staying somewhere for several hours, slow AC charging is preferred. If your battery is low and you're just stopping briefly, go for DC. In Singapore, thanks to COE, battery longevity concerns matter less — charge DC when you need to.
Estimated range is calculated based on recent driving conditions and habits, so fluctuation in the displayed number is normal.
The size of the swing is expected, not a fault. City driving recovers energy through regenerative braking; sustained expressway speed does not. Eurokars publishes both WLTP figures:

On the S6 that's a 206km gap on the same battery. If your displayed range sits well below the headline number, you are almost certainly seeing the combined figure behave normally rather than a degraded pack.

Keep between 20-80% for daily driving. Only charge to 100% right before a long trip, and avoid leaving it at 100% for extended periods.
20-80% is optimal for longevity, but charge to 100% at least once a month to recalibrate the BMS and keep range estimates accurate.
Battery balancing equalizes charge and voltage across the hundreds of individual cells in the HV battery, maximizing range, safety, and lifespan. To balance: start at 15-20% state of charge, AC charge (not DC) to 100%, then continue charging 1-2 hours after reaching 100%.
Older MG EVs (ZS, MG4 classic): 8 years HV battery warranty.
Newer MG EVs (MG4 Urban / MG4 U, Cyberster, S5, S6 onwards): 10 years HV battery warranty — 70% State of Health guaranteed for years 1-7, 60% for years 7-10.
Note: MG4 Urban (MG4 U) is a separate, newer model from the original MG4 — don't confuse the two when checking warranty terms.
Typically half a day for normal servicing. Extra services (frunk install, tyre change) may extend duration. Ask staff to pump tyres and wash your car, request a birthday gift pack during your birthday month, and remember to ask for a service report afterward.
Servicing scheduled before 6 August 2026 remains at the old location, 5 Ubi Close.

Every 6 months or 10,000km, whichever is faster. New owners also get complimentary preventative checks at 1,000km and 5,000km.
PFL means pre-facelift and FL means facelift. The comparison below is for the MG ZS EV only. It does not describe the MG4 — an MG4 Trophy LR already has a 360° camera and adaptive cruise control as standard, so don't read the FL column as meaning your MG4 is a facelift car.

Two rows are confirmed against official Eurokars spec sheets: MG4 (classic) — 64kWh, AC 7kW, DC 150kW; and MG S6 — 77kWh NMC, 3-phase AC 11kW, DC 144kW. The remaining rows are community-compiled — check your own spec sheet before relying on them.
The modem's antenna isn't very strong, so connection can drop in places like underground carparks. iSMART can also go into deep sleep when the 12V battery is low. Try tapping the 2nd icon in the app to check Vehicle Status to force a connection. If it persists, raise it at your next servicing.
For reference, the standard iSMART functions on the MG4 are Remote Locking / Unlocking, Remote Climate Control, Vehicle Finder and Vehicle Management. If one of these four never works even with a good connection, that's worth reporting — anything beyond this list was never a factory feature.

Turn it off in the Navigation setting, under the built-in maps.
While connected to the car, go to iPhone Settings → Wi-Fi → MG → Configure IP → Manual, and set a manual IP. This cuts internet from the MG hotspot to your phone while CarPlay stays connected.
These systems assist the driver but do not replace safe driving practices. On the MG4 Trophy LR, the full standard MG Pilot suite — i.e. everything that can raise an alert — is:

If an alert doesn't match anything on this list, it isn't MG Pilot.

The S6 sheet also lists One Pedal Driving and an Adjustable Brake Energy Recovery System under MG Pilot. Those are driving modes rather than alert systems — they won't warn you about anything, they change how the car decelerates when you lift off.
The S6 also uses slightly different naming for the same functions: Lane Departure Assistance (LDA) rather than Warning, Intelligent High Beam Control (IHC), and ACC with Stop & Go.

Priority order, lowest to highest cost: optimise factory settings and source material → sound deadening → front speaker upgrade → rear speaker upgrade → active subwoofer → DSP amplifier (8-channel for most builds, 6-channel if pairing with an existing amp).
Front speakers should be the top priority since they create almost the entire soundstage. Always audition speakers in person with familiar reference tracks before buying.
Check what you have first — the MG S6 ships with a factory frunk (86 litres). If you drive an S6 Luxury there is nothing to install.
On models without one, EK has a frunk available and you can use your service voucher to offset the cost. Note: if you've upgraded to a larger lithium 12V battery, it may not fit — some owners use a hot blower to soften the frunk to accommodate the larger battery.
